Mauro Francis is a technology analyst at the University of British Columbia. He has lived in East Vancouver his entire life, attending Templeton Secondary School before graduating from the BC Institute of Technology. His family has called East Vancouver home for over 50 years; his father immigrated from Panama and his mother’s family from Italy.
Mauro put his name forward to represent his community to advocate for affordability for young striving families like his. He wants to see a safe and vibrant neighbourhood where his family can stay another 50 years and beyond. He also believes mental health is a priority in building a safe and healthy community. Mauro will advocate for increased funding to provinces for mental health care and for stringent measures to be implemented to tackle the housing crisis.
He is also a supporter of more opportunities to put the economy back on track.
Mauro lives in East Vancouver with his fiancée Sydney. He is a mentor with the East End Boys Club and is an active Rotarian. Mauro is ready to lead.
